Billing Services
The billing department, at Hematology-Oncology Associates, consists of Certified Professional Coders, Certified Hematology Oncology Coders as well as Certified Medical Insurance Specialists with over 20 years of combined experience. Our billing specialists are on-site and available to answer questions, in person or over the phone. They can assist you with understanding your insurance plan policy and coverage.
Our physicians are contracted with most major insurance plans. We submit medical claims directly to all primary and secondary insurance carriers on your behalf. In the event you have additional coverage or cancer policies, claim submissions are your responsibility. To ensure accurate and timely filing of claims, notify us immediately with any insurance coverage or carrier changes.
If you are not covered by a medical insurance plan, and/or you have concerns regarding paying for services or treatments, please contact one of our billing specialists to arrange a payment plan and possible enrollment in patient assistance programs. If your health insurance policy specifies a co-pay or co-insurance, payment is requested at time of service.

After claims have been processed by your insurance carrier, a billing statement will be sent to you for any balance that is your responsibility. For your convenience the following methods of payment are accepted: Cash, check, Visa & Master Card.
Prior to initiation of treatment or therapy, our office will contact your insurance carrier to verify treatment coverage and to obtain any necessary authorizations. A billing specialist will meet with you to discuss your estimated treatment cost as well as your approximate out-of-pocket expense.
